Coca Cola Chicken Curry

- 1.0 kilograms diced chicken
- 2.0 large onions, finely chopped
- 4.0 tablespoons cumin powder
- 2.0 tablespoons coriander powder
- 2.0 tablespoons tamarind paste
- 4.0 tablespoons ginger paste
- 2.0 tablespoons garlic paste
- 1.0 stick cinnamon stick
- 4.0 cloves cloves
- 2.0 teaspoons smoked paprika
- 200.0 milliliters Coca-Cola
- 6.0 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 300.0 milliliters single cream
- 1.0 kilograms natural yogurt (large tub)
- salt(optional)
- fresh coriander, chopped(optional)
Instructions
Step 1
Heat the oil in a large pan, then fry the cinnamon stick and cloves.
Step 2
Next add the onion, together with the ginger, garlic and tamarind paste, and fry until the onion is golden brown.
Step 3
Then add the cumin, smoked paprika and coriander powder, and reduce the heat.
Step 4
Add the chicken and keep stirring until all the chicken has browned.
Step 5
Add the Coca-Cola and a pinch of salt. Simmer on a low heat till the chicken becomes tender.
Step 6
When all the ingredients are cooked, turn off the heat; add the yogurt and the cream and finally the chopped coriander. Serve with cardamom rice and other Indian condiments such as mango chutney.
