Hawaiian-Style Kalbi Beef Short Ribs

Ingredients

5 pounds thin cut tender short rib of beef, cross cut, about 1/2 inch thick
2 cups soy sauce
2 cups sugar
4 garlic cloves, pressed through garlic press
2 inches fresh ginger, grated
2 green onions, sliced
1 red chile, seeds removed and finely chopped

Preparation

Place ribs in a large casserole.

Mix all ingredients in a sauce pan over medium heat and stir until the sugar melts.

Pour marinade over ribs, cover with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator 4 hours or overnight, mixing up occasionally to make sure all ribs are covered with the marinade.
