- 3 egg whites
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vinegar
- 1 teaspoon water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup sugar

Combine the egg whites, baking powder, salt, vinegar, water, and vanilla extract in a mixing bowl.

Beat the mixture at high speed until stiff.

Gradually add 1 cup of sugar, a little at a time, to the mixture.

Shape the meringue mixture like a pie shell on a greased cookie sheet, or form small amounts into bird's nests.

Bake in a 275°F (135°C) oven for 1 hour.

Turn off the oven and leave the meringue in the oven to dry completely.
