Chicken Chow Mein with Snow Peas

Ingredients

1/2 teaspoon pepper
3 cups thinly sliced celery
4 ozs snow peas cut lengthwise
1 can (4 oz.) water chestnuts, sliced
2 teaspoons orange juice
2 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 cloves minced garlic
3 tablespoons soy sauce
2 cups sliced chicken
2 Tablespoons minced ginger
1/2 pound Chow mein noodles

Preparation

Cook chow mein egg noodles according to package directions.

Heat 1/2 of the oil in deep skillet. Add garlic and ginger. Saute for 30 seconds. Add chicken. Cook until browned. Remove from pan.

Add more oil if needed. Add celery, snow peas, water chestnuts, pepper and orange juice.

Mix cornstarch, chicken stock and soy sauce; add to vegetable mixture. Stir until mixture thickens. Add chicken and chow mein and toss. Taste for seasoning.
