Kate Middleton Follows the Dukan Diet

September 12, 2011

Kate Middleton is able to keep her slim figure with the Dukan Diet. Created by a French nutritionist, Pierre Dukan, the Dutchess of Cambridge began the diet before her royal wedding and has continued it into her wedded life.

The Dukan Diet doesn't count calories and has four different stages. The first stage is "The Attack." This phase is 2-7 days long and lets dieters eat 72 of 100 allowed foods (listed in The Dukan Diet book). During this phase, you can eat as much as you want while your metabolism starts to modify. The second stage, "The Cruise," is a gradual weight loss period. All 100 foods are allowed and dieters can even add in their own "tolerable" foods, as long as it doesn't make them gain weight. Phase three, "The Consolidation," is when cheese, fruit and bread are introduced back into the diet to help prevent future weight gain. "The Stabilization" is the last stage of the Dukan Diet and doesn't have many restrictions. By this point, dieters should have learned how to eat healthily and should be able to do so without the diet's restrictions.

Kate's mother Carole and sister Pippa are also known fans of the Dukan Diet.
