Ireland Bans GMOs

July 27, 2011

Ireland joins Egypt and Japan in banning genetically modified crops. There will also be a new GM-free label, which will be available for animal products raised without GMOs.

Just as our government is trying to expand the use of GMOs for export, Ireland is doing the exact opposite. They are hoping to become one of the world's largest exporters of GMO free foods.

Let's hope that Monsanto doesn't try to force the issue, as they have with the German ban of GMO corn.
