Reverend Al Sharpton Lost 47 Pounds on Vegetarian Diet

July 2, 2012

Rev. Al Sharpton has been showing off a slimmer figure lately, which he credits to his vegetarian diet. Sharpton decided to cut meat, refined sugar and starch from his diet in 2010 and has since lost 47 pounds.

"I was a chicken junkie," Sharpton said. "I used to eat chicken three times a day."

Nowadays, Sharpton's plate looks much greener. "I just love greens and grains. I eat a lot of salad and fruits," he said. "I feel like a new, improved me. A vegetarian diet has a way of absorbing the stress and gives you greater endurance."
