April 20th my 69th birthday thinking back over the years when as a middle school youngster eating fried pumpkin blossoms was a treat grandma always knew was on the menu when i came to visit. Not knowing the story behind the gesture grandma always said don't pick the female blossoms,just the male's or i won't have any pumpkins, this may have been her way of humor but i never did know if it was true, i just picked them all! I'm surprised everyone i ask about eating fried pumpkin blossoms no one knows or ever heard of the treat. Thank you for the information , I'm going to have me a big batch soon as the pumpkins come in season!
