Depends on what's in the recipe. If you are just talking about a sauce that contains spices and oils, it will be good stored in a jar in a cool dry place for months.
If you are talking about a dish that contains other foods, such as dairy, vegetables, meats, fish...then I'd suggest refrigeration or freezing.
