A new study reveals that 8 percent of children under the age of 18 in the U.S. suffer from food allergies. And researchers see evidence that number is on the climb.
Among those with food allergies, about 39 percent had a history of severe reaction and 30 percent were allergic to multiple foods. The most common food allergen was peanuts, followed by milk and shellfish.
