Try a nice syrah. Woop Woop (Australian) makes a nice syrah for about $9. A nice petite verdot would be good- Try one from Castle Rock.

The halibut try a nice Savignon Blanc. I just tried a dry one from In Ka that was great.

Good advice Chris, my thought exactly, guess we have the same taste in wine!

Freaky! I'm drinking the Castle Rock Petite Verdot as I read this! I love it, hard to find 100% PV. Great advice.

I'd also suggest a Gruner Vetliner with the halibut.

Thanks to all for the suggestions. Syrah and S.Blanc sounds good.
