Question: how do you remove sugary taste from food?

Vinegar can counteract some sweetness...but it does depend on the food.

It would depend on what you're making. Lemon juice may help in some instances. If you add too much salt to a soup, you can add a raw potato and remove it when it's soft to remove the salt. If it's a soup or sauce- you could give the potato trick a try.
