About

Solyanka is an original Russian soup made with meat/poultry, fish (more often with sturgeon) or forest mushrooms

The main ingredient which makes this dish so special is salted cucumbers. It is a traditional to make pickles with a strong brine (without vinegar) flavored by garlic, currant leaves, horseradish and dill.

This is a "Compound Meat Solyanka” (Сборная мясная солянка) recipe, one of many other varieties.
