yeast
or 2 dry melted in a little
water
2 c
potato
, cooked and mashed
2 cups
milk
, heated and cooled
1 teaspoon
salt
1/4 teaspoon
nutmeg
1 cup
sugar
(extra full)
2 beaten
eggs
3/4 cup
shortening
or soft
butter
Preparation
1
Put in 4 cups flour. Let rise double in bulk and add 4 1/2 cups flour, let rise until double in bulk.
Roll
out 1 inch thick and
cut.
Fry
in 3 inches of Crisco.
