Tool: Potjie


Cast iron kettle with three small legs that allow it to be set on top of a fire for slow cooking soups and stews. Originally from South Africa, similar to a dutch oven, these heavy lidded pots have become popular in Texas for cooking chili. There is a whole genre of cooking with potjie in South Africa called potjie kos- "little pot food."
