Nutella, a chocolate-hazelnut spread, has captured the hearts of Americans. Dare I say that it holds a place in the pantry next to our beloved peanut butter. Nutella was first developed in Italy by pastry chef Pietro Ferrero in the 1940's. There was a shortage on chocolate products due to World War II so Mr. Ferrero decided to supplement his product with hazelnuts as a way to ration his chocolate supply. Now Nutella is sold in 75 countries and a favorite spread among kids and adults alike. Here are five different ways to use your jar of Nutella.

Nutella has 0 saturated fat but it has 200 calories in 2 TBS due to the high sugar content (21 grams in 2 TBS). 50% of the calories come from fat...despite all of this, it is super delicious and i love it...makes a great treat for kids and adults alike.

I love Nutella so much I can't have it in the house. Adding Nutella to a chocolate cheesecake recipe and dusting the top with ground Hazelnuts is divine!
