The Skinny Alternative: Fresh Raspberry Sorbet

Sorbet is the skinny alternative to ice cream.  It doesn't contain any of the high fat dairy products, just sugar, water, and fruit.  You can add additional flavorings like herbs, extracts, or liquors to add another dimension to your sorbet without adding a ton of calories.  This raspberry sorbet would be especially delicious combined with a fruity red wine.  This refreshing treat that will make you feel good about your dessert choice.

Fresh Raspberry Sorbet


1 1⁄2 cups sugar
2 cups water
1 tsp. vanilla extract
5 cups fresh raspberries
2 tbsp. fresh lemon juice
