Think Outside the Candy Box

October 23, 2011

Green Halloween is a non-profit, community initiative who is on a mission to create more eco-friendly holidays.

The organization started with Halloween 2007 in Seattle and has now spread to cities across the country. Volunteers work to educate families and create a holiday that is fun and eco-friendly.

"A record one million pieces of candy were replaced with healthier and more sustainable treat options at events all across the U.S., thanks to our product partners. In this same year, we also launched National Costume Swap Day as a kick-off to the Green Halloween season."

The GH site is a treasure trove of information for safety, green living, food allergies, and more.
