Pub Introduces Beer for Dogs

January 10, 2012

A British pub has introduced a pet friendly menu that actually includes a non-alcoholic beer made especially for man's best friend. The Brandling Villa in Newcastle created a beer with malt, hops and a meat extract. They sold out of their first batch, 48 bottles, in two weeks.

"We have some regulars: she'll have a Sauvignon Blanc, he has a pint of Budvar, and Charlie the dog has a dog beer," Manager Dave Carr says. "That's his regular drink. People seem to think it's a bit mental - we keep it in the fridge along with other beers and they ask what it is. People think it's just a normal beer with a ridiculous name."

It's another pet, the cat, with a huge cafe following in Japan.
