Derby Day Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie

Chocolate Bourbon pecan pie is the perfect Derby Day dessert.  Buttery Southern pecan are mixed with rich chocolate chips and Kentucky Bourbon to create a sweet dessert best enjoyed while watching the races.  Serve your pie with a dollop of freshly whipped cream (spiked with a little extra Bourbon for good measure).

Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie


1 stick butter
1 cup sugar
2 larges eggs, beaten
1/2 cup flour
1 tablespoon Kentucky bourbon
9 inches pie shell, partially baked
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Cream butter and sugar, then mix in eggs, flour, salt, and bourbon.
Fold in nuts and chocolate chips, and stir well.
Pour into the pie shell; bake for 30-40 minutes, until center is set.
