Saying Goodbye to The Twinkie, Hostess Closes It Doors After 82 Years

November 16, 2012

The Twinkie was predicted to outlast the human race; however, on Friday Nov. 16, Hostess Brand Inc has requested to close it's doors after 82 years of business.

According to the website, the company "has been forced by a Bakers Union strike to shut down all operations and sell all company assets."  Factory operations have been stopped effective immediately but delivery of already baked products will still continue over the next couple of days.  18,500 workers will be laid off because of the closure.

Get your Twinkies, Ding-Dongs, and Wonder Bread while you still can, soon you will have to say goodbye to this iconic American food.
