Moon pies are a truly southern dessert said to be the result of asking a coal miner what he would like as a dessert. The miner explained his favorite flavors of graham cracker, marshmallow, and chocolate. Then, when asked what size to make this dessert, he held up two hands and circled the full moon in the sky. Thus, the moon pie was born.
Now thanks to the internet, moon pies can be found anywhere someone has a mailbox to order them, but what fun is that, when you can make moon pies in your own kitchen? We wanted to share some of our favorite moon pie recipes. Check them out!
