Wheatless Wednesday Djokovic US Open Edition

September 14, 2011

I have never rooted for a tennis match as hard as I did in the Nadal vs. Djokovic US Open Final. My motivation for cheering Djokovic on is simple, he attributes his success to going gluten free. The more successful he becomes while promoting a gluten free lifestyle, the easier my job becomes.

Granted, I don't know all of the specifics of his diet. He may be downing a ton of gluten free breads, pastas, and cereals, instead of eating a diet packed with nutrient dense whole foods. Still, this is a step in the right direction.

I have yet to put a client or friend on a gluten free diet without them having some kind of amazing results: weight loss, better brain function, loss of joint pain, headaches, rashes, and an increase in energy and vitality.

So RAH RAH, Djokovic, keep on collecting those trophies and being the poster boy for the gluten free movement!

Novak Djokovic is a disgrace to the gluten free world. During a recent interview he said this.

Q. We know you have changed your diet from the end of last year. I was wondering what you ate last night and what you ate this morning right before the match, and what are you going to do tonight?

NOVAK DJOKOVIC: I'll give you a simple answer: last night I didn't have any gluten, and tonight I will have a bunch of gluten ‑ and alcohol.

I myself a Coeliac for 8 + years am very frustrated at the celebrities who go 50 % gluten free and make the gluten free diet look like a fad diet .

A gluten free diet is the only treatment for Coeliac disease and celebrities are turning it into a fad diet and a weight loss diet , it's a disgrace.

Thanks to people like this Coeliac disease will always be treated as a joke and not the serious autoimmune disease it is.

Something needs to be done to show the world Coeliac disease is a terrible disease and not a fad diet :(
