August 23, 2012

After suffering a heart attack, Rosie O'Donnell has decided to adopt a plant-based diet.

"Nine days later -- nine pounds lost -- eating a plant based diet #LikeBillClinton," she tweeted earlier today.

O'Donnell previously admitted to having an unhealthy diet that included lots of wine and ice cream.

Rosie is not Vegan. Being Vegan is not about what you eat, but abstaining from all animal "products", exploitation, and vivisection. Rosie is going to eat similar to what Vegans eat....but she is not a Vegan. The term cannot be used so loosely. It gives people the wrong impression.
Bill Clinton is not Vegan. He also eats "mostly" whole, plant foods. There is a huge difference.

@ Michelle, I think you should wikipedia the term VEGAN. People we first introduced to this word strickly based on health reasons. The animals rights part of veganism wasnt practiced until several years later. There are 3 types and Rosie is a VEGAN. Doesnt have anything to do with leather shoes either.

@Michele
Look at the big picture.
Rosie is adopting a healthier lifestyle that will influence millions. It does not matter that she does not meet the strict definition of "veganism", what does matter is that she makes the vegan lifestyle more mainstream.
