Bollywood and Hollywood Join Forces for Vegan Cookbook

July 4, 2012

Bollywood and Hollywood are joining forces for a new project from PETA India -- a celebrity vegan cookbook. The Bolly Holly Vegan Cookbook will include recipes from Bollywood stars like Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Raveena Tandon, Amrita Rao and Neha Dhupia.

"It will be perfect for everyone -- veteran vegans, curious newcomers and those who just want to try the occasional meatless meal -- as well as both kitchen novices and culinary wizards," said Poorva Joshipura, the head of PETA India and Vice President of Internal Operations for PETA Foundation UK. "The recipes will allow readers to enjoy vegan versions of old-time Indian regional favorites and to explore dishes that they might never have heard of before. The book will reveal how easy it is to turn traditionally meat or dairy-laden Indian dishes -- and those from faraway lands -- into more enjoyable and far healthier vegan delicacies."

There are currently no details on which of Hollywood's finest will be contributing to The Bolly Holly Vegan Cookbook, but it is set to hit shelves in 2013.
