Fresh Strawberry Sorbet


2/3 cup Sugar
2/3 cup Water
2 1/2 pints Ripe strawberries, hulled, puree and chill
2 tablespoons Grand marnier
2 tablespoons Fresh lemon juice


Combine sugar and water in a saucepan over medium high heat, and stir till sugar is dissolved. Just before syrup comes to a boil, remove from heat.
Cool and chill. Add syrup to remaining ingredients and blend well. Finish in ice cream machine or freezer. Serve with raspberry strawberry sauce.

I do not use alcohol. Can I leave out the Grand Mariner or substitute something else? Thank you!

someone edited this recipe, because I use Kirsch. Yes, you can leave out the alcohol. It just means the sorbet will freeze more solidly, that's all.
