The brownie in this post is actually a healthy brownie, believe it or not, it is made with natural organic ingredients like dates, raw cacao, raw almonds and raw walnuts. The recipe is originally from the beautiful blog My New Roots . What's more, you don’t need an oven to make it!

This is a great dish that can be served as an appetizer, a side, or as a meal by itself. Best of all, it can be prepared ahead of time up to the point of baking.

This crostini is simple to make and hearty, without being overly heavy. I adore appetizers, but hate when they leave me feeling too full for the main course.

Pleasantly dense, but still tender. Smelling of warm cinnamon and a hint of nutmeg. The outside craggy and a little crisp, the inside rich and moist with chunks of pillowy soft apples, bursts of sweet dates, and hunks of crunchy walnuts.

The recipe I used for these cookies was from the MarthaStewart.com. I tweaked it a little to make it easier for the little one to manage. They came out perfect, soft chocolate cookies with gooey marshmallows and rich chocolate worked well together.

It’s a work in progress and changes depending on what vegetables I have on hand. It really is a complete nutritional meal in one dish. It’s also wonderfully textured with the crunch of the peppers and nuts balanced against the creaminess of the Quinoa.

Until this point the plan had been for ribs, crusty bread, a big bowl of dipping sauce, and a lot of paper towels. Dead simple, perhaps with some. But then I got the idea of a super sandwich, and my thoughts turned to bánh mì.

On weekends, we enjoy nothing better than to lie in, followed by a walk to our local florist to select some gorgeous flowers for our home, and listen to some chilled out music while we cook breakfast. This recipe for antipasti - A delicious array of Italian recipes is one of our favourites for its flavours, textures and rustic look

This is not a traditional version. I replaced the green bell pepper, added chili powder, garlic with hot pepper, smokey paprika, and tomato paste.I'm also thinking that it would be a great base for vegetarians/vegans to play with in a taquito, on nachos, or even as a meatloaf.

This lovely apple cake is dairy-free and egg-free. If you adore apple desserts as much as I do, this is a recipe to try! Moist and full of flavor…the eggs aren’t even missed one bit.

Sometimes you’re just in the mood for a corn dog. Am I right? There’s just something so kid-at-the-county-fair about them. Plus, I haven’t met a food that comes on a stick that I didn’t like. Yet. But being that I’m a vegetarian (at least 90% of the time) I can’t very well just eat any old corn dog. I decided to try to make my own, vegetarian style.

This salad is a wonderful showcase for perfectly ripe figs. It only has four ingredients – figs, prosciutto, pear and salad leaves – plus the dressing, so the flavours of the figs really shines through.
