Lana

I was born and raised in Serbia, ex Yugoslavia, where I attended the University of Belgrade, obtaining a BA in Italian Language and Literature, and English Language and Literature. I am married to an American and currently live in Southern California, which is heaven.
I have three daughters and all three of them love to cook. The oldest one is a sophomore at UC Berkeley, and the younger ones are still in grade school.
We are all very adventurous in many areas of our lives, including food. I want my children to be familiar with their Serbian heritage, and the traditional dishes are frequently on the table. But we are surrounded by fresh produce, different cultures, and ingredients that my ancestors cannot even pronounce, let alone recognize.
I want to extend their culinary horizons. They are world travelers, they cope with jet-leg with stoicism, they are aware of differences that divide our world.
I also like to tell stories, to keep the memories alive and let them get a glimpse of a life of another generation, not enveloped in tecnhology.
