Ingredients

beaten
eggs
1 cup
milk
2 tablespoons
sugar
2 teaspoons
vanilla
2 teaspoons
orange liqueur
(optional)
1/2 teaspoon ground
cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon
ground nutmeg
8
slices
bread
2 tablespoons
butter
Syrup,
for serving
Preparation
1
In a shallow bowl,
beat
together eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla and orange liqueur (if using), cinnamon and nutmeg. Dip
bread
slices
into egg mixture, being sure to
coat
both sides.

In a
skillet
or griddle,
melt
1 tablespoon of the butter over medium
heat.
Add half of the
bread
slices
and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden b
rown.
Repeat with remaining s
lices.
