- 1/2 cup fresh basil leaf chiffonade(optional)
- to taste Salt
- 1 1/2-2 ounces mozzarella, sliced or coarsely shredded
- 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
- 0.5 teaspoon finely-minced garlic
- 3-5 canned plum tomatoes, well drained and seeded, haphazardly cut or chopped into 1/2-inch pieces
- 1 pizza dough

30 minutes
At least 30 minutes before baking, place an oven rack on the lowest level, preferably holding a pizza stone, and preheat the oven to 500 degrees. Shape the dough into a pizza following the recipe directions.

Evenly scatter, sprinkle, or drizzle all the remaining ingredients on top of the pizza dough (except on the ridge) in the order given.

7 to 8 minutes
Bake for 7 to 8 minutes, until the ridge is tinged with brown. Serve immediately.
