lrg Eggs

teaspoon Vanilla extract

1 ¾

cups All-purpose flour

1 ½

cups Regular oats, uncooked

1

teaspoon Baking soda

½

teaspoon Salt

12

ounces Semi-sweet chocolate chips

1

cup Light brown sugar, firmly packed

½

cup Shortening

½

cup Butter

½

cup Sugar

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 .

Step 2

Beat butter and shortening at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy; gradually add sugars, beating mixture well. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well.

Step 3

Combine flour, oats, salt and soda; gradually add to butter mixture, beating well. Stir in chocolate morsels and nuts.

Step 4

Drop by heating tsp onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake for 8-11 minutes or until golden around edges. Remove to wire racks to cool completely.

Step 5

Yield: Approximately 6 dz.
