Choose meat/poultry/eggs that are pasture-raised-This goes beyond the term "free range" which may only mean that the animals went outside for a few minutes each day. Truly pasture-raised means the cows, goats, lamb, and pigs ate grass, and the chickens ate worms, grass, and seeds. Speaking with the farmers or visiting the farm is an excellent way to find out what practices they use.
Always buy nuts and seeds raw- The oils are polyunsaturated, which means they are more prone to breaking down with heat and light than saturated fats. Roasted nuts are usually overheated and the oils have already broken down.
Read those labels- This is crucial for those choosing to live a healthy lifestyle. Even organic packaged food contains many additives, GMO, and added sweeteners. If a package has a very long list of words that sound like you need a chemistry degree, then it's probably not the best option. The less you eat of a box the better!
