Question: What Are The Temperature Equivelents For The Settings On A Slow Cooker?

February 10, 2010
Most slow cookers I'm familiar with have settings like Low-Medium-High. What do those levels equate to in degrees Fahrenheit? Does it vary much from manufacturer to manufacturer?

My experience is it varies by manufacturer. I've just used an instant read thermometer until I get a feel for how a new one heats up.

Ditto that it varies - I heated up the slow cooker with water in it and then measured the temperature. My low was 130 and my high was 150. Perfect for sous vide, I think, and cheaper than the sous vide supreme!
